Sociology of Crime

Determining the association of criminal data as it applies social class, it can be seen that the value of ascertaining which ones need to be classified remains rooted mainly on unequal standards and principles. Here, there seems to be a relationship with crime and lower levels of the social status. Though this may prove to be questionable as the prevalence of deviant behavior does not construe with the realm of social status, institutions and elements related to crime prevention often designate these characteristics altogether and essentially remain to be biased towards its implementation as well as the reporting of the changes made to address these issues.

Seeing this, it can be argued that there remains to be a double standard associated with the formulation and creation of specific processes related to classification of crime. Indeed, the act itself does not justify whether you are rich or poor. Rather, the ideal process involves the application of the rule of law where everyone is accountable regardless of race and stature in society. Given these, the truth about crime statistics and value related to its application must remain rooted on data that is encompassing to all.
