INTRODUCTION
The crime in question can be categorized as burglary. Dicks act is categorized as a burglary because he enters the premises with the intent of committing theft (Morselli, 2008). The crime is committed without the knowledge of anyone in the office. The promotion provided a good chance for Dick to steal the cash since he gains access to the safe where the cash is kept.

THE CRIME SCRIPT
The very initial thought of the crime was facilitate by the fact that Dick had to repay a loan after acting as a guarantor to his friend. The money lenders have given him a short notice to repay the loan failure to which he could lose his possessions. The loss of personal processions leaves one in a bad state in most cases (Morselli, 2008).He does not have ready cash at hand hence opts to steal the cash from his work place. Refusal of the loan shark to reschedule the date for repayment further aggravates the thought of stealing. This issue also warns him on the seriousness of the matter.

The fact that his wife has always volunteered to give him the lock combination of the safe provides a better chance of making the plan a success. The friend who offers to help him further helps to break some tension that had already built (Morselli, 2008). The idea the friend presented was rational hence, it could have probably bore fruits. The promotion offered to Dick by his father further made his plan successful since it provided a direct channel to acquiring the cash. The main stages that preceded that actual robbery were all effective but the final one proved the most effective since dick did not need any assistance from outside.

The main actors in the offence included Dick, his wife, his friend and his father-in-law.  Dick played a role of coming up with the idea of stealing the money from the bank which happens to be his place of work. The idea distresses him hence he seeks help from his friend who readily offers to help him. The friend provides a reasonable idea that could have possibly worked all Dick had to do in this case is to ask his wife for the lock combination of safe. This could have also worked because his wife had willingly attempted to tell him about the combination but he turned down the offer (Morselli, 2008). The father-in-law provided an avenue for Dicks plans to work out quite well sine he give him the chance to be in close contact with the case and to actually have the lock combination.

The decision to steal from the bank was Dicks. This was the only way he could raise he amount of money the moneylenders were demanding for. The decision to involve his friend came about as a result of fear. He and his friend reach a consensus on the best option to select in order succeed. The process of decision making is at times affected by the matter at hand.

The main resource that was most important was the combination of the lock to the safe. This knowledge held the key to making the plan a success since it was the most important aspect in the whole plan. The knowledge to use the lock combination was also an important aspect towards making the plan a success. Dicks courage (Morselli, 208) served a vital role in the acquisition of the money required.

The authorities concerned in this case were the banks management. The management was to fast in presenting Dick with the lock combination. Time allowance to assess him in his new position could have been an essential tool in preventing the crime. The idea of handling the key to him too soon was uncalled for the management was not even sure if Dick was up to the task.

CONCLUSION
The crime script presents a rich description of the stages, actors decisions and resources that were necessary to make Dicks plan a success. The management played a role in making the plan a success and the strategies the same management could have put in place t ensure that the crime does not take place.
