Analyzing Sutherlands article, it can be argued that the value and perceptions towards the escalation and development of crime circumvents not on ones socio-economic status or the groups they are associated into. Rather, it is the corresponding actions by different individuals regardless of group associations. Here, it can be argued that it is an individual decision that is altogether shaped both by interests, decisions, and the environment they are in. It can be argued that establishing and classifying crime towards social standards particularly economic status establishes a biased view on law enforcement. It does not only promote tolerance of deviant actions among the rich but also establishes a double standard in the implementation of approaches related to law enforcement and policing.

Seeing this, it is then necessary to rethink what people classify as criminal behavior. Here, it does not circumvent in the process of relating them according to social status but rather determining the value system. Corresponding to this, it can then help provide the necessary means for infusing better allocation of deterrence measures and punishments for people. All these can shape the process of creating a legal and policing system that is rooted not only in promoting security and protection but also transcends the purpose of justice.
